An Overview of Support at Excel Treatment Center in NJ

At the Excel Center, we’re invested in your recovery and we know that this often requires long-term support. We offer a range of services for our clients to empower them in their healing journey. Our clients are all unique, and we treat them as such. This means that we tailor our support programs to meet their specific needs.

The services we provide are:

We are committed to making sure that each of our clients receives the very best care and treatment possible. We know that everyone’s recovery journey looks different, and we know it takes time. If treatment and support are suddenly stopped, it can be a shock to clients.

We make sure that we reduce our support and care as safely as possible to give them a chance to adjust slowly. In doing so, we make the process as comfortable as possible. If our clients decide that they need ongoing support, we make sure they get it.

SUPPORTING LOVED-ONES

Our Family Program

Substance use and other addictions affect the entire family unit. It can cause arguments and rifts. We know that. However, it is possible to heal together.

We understand that involving the family members in our client’s treatment sets them up for the best possible chance in recovery. If we have the support of our loved ones, it makes this process much easier and our Family Program seeks to facilitate this.

We offer family therapy sessions delivered by our compassionate team who are mostly clinical social workers, psychologists, and licensed therapists.

We know that each family is different, and we personalize the level of care that people receive. This ensures that each family member will feel understood and cared for.

Some of the sensitive issues we address are:

A little honesty goes a long way in helping recovery. Often, we find that clients and their family members do not feel ‘heard’ when discussing issues. This isn’t anyone’s fault. Sometimes, we just need help. However, if left unchecked, this can cause a breakdown in communication, which may often lead to feelings of hurt and resentment.

Our Family Program seeks to restore the balance in the family through productive conversations and education. In the same way that substance use can hurt the whole family, recovery can help the whole family.

HOW WE SUPPORT LONG-TERM RECOVERY

Relapse Prevention

Substance use disorder and other addictions can run deep and we understand that it is not as simple as just stopping. Most of our clients have tried that before they got to us. We know that relapsing can leave people feeling confused, angry, and disappointed. After all, they want to stop, but they can’t stay stopped.

Following detox, when physical addiction has been broken, the mental cravings can remain. Some people find that they persist for months. These are called Post-acute Withdrawal Symptoms. During this period, clients are especially vulnerable to relapse – we can help prevent that.

Fortunately, relapse doesn’t have to be a part of your journey after leaving the Excel Center. It starts by treating the root cause of the problem. It continues with maintenance, healing, and self-discovery.

During your time with Excel, you will be taught what a relapse is and the warning signs. You will also know your own personal triggers, and you’ll be taught healthy coping strategies for when it all seems too much. When we are armed with these facts, our chances for a successful recovery improve.

OFFERING YOU FLEXIBILITY IN TREATMENT

Telehealth Sessions

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, many services found they worked just as effectively over a phone or video call. During this, we re-structured how we were able to engage with our clients.

Our telehealth model allows us to provide high-quality care whilst minimizing non-essential contact. This not only benefits people who are worried about COVID-19, but anyone with a busy schedule.

We do offer residential services for people looking to continue their recovery locally. However, we understand that not everyone wants to do this. Many of our clients have families, jobs, or other commitments they have to return home to. However, this doesn’t mean their need to maintain their recovery stops.

Our telehealth service helps clients keep working on their recovery. Telehealth allows meetings with our highly-trained professionals at any time, from anywhere in the country. This means that an understanding ear and expert advice is never further than a phone call away.

MANAGING MENTAL HEALTH

Psychiatric Consultations

To deliver the best treatment, we need to know exactly what you need. We know that this varies from person to person. At the Excel Center, our psychiatric consultations are a safe, judgment-free space. In these, clients can be fully open and honest.

We use the information from this consultation to craft a personalized treatment plan unique to you.

This allows us to understand the root cause of your issues and work together for a solution. This is usually a mixture of biological, psychological, and social factors.

Some of the conditions we commonly encounter in our clients are:

Our psychiatric consultation makes sure that any underlying mental health conditions are treated. This gives our clients the best chance for a successful and happy recovery. Although mental health can be confusing and alarming, the symptoms are manageable with help.

We treat each one of our clients holistically. This means that we consider every part of them during treatment. When we do this, we can make sure that everyone’s unique needs are met.

Why choose excel treatment center

Continuing Care & Long-Term Support

Recovery isn’t always easy. Addiction and mental health conditions can be deeply entrenched and we’re not always sure when we are going to run into a trigger. We know that this takes time, patience, and hard work. This is why we offer Continuing Care to all of our clients.

Initial treatment usually takes three to six months, but our clients can stay engaged with us as long as they need. We like to see our clients flourish in recovery, but we also love it when they return to us for help. This isn’t a sign of weakness – it’s rather a sign of maturity and shows that someone takes their recovery seriously.

With our Continuing Care program, we can support you every step of the way.

As you end the initial stages of treatment, you’ll work with our staff to make a Continuing Care package. This will be tailored to your exact needs. We understand that people change throughout their treatment and recovery.

We can tailor your program to meet you exactly where you are at. Life can hit us at unexpected times. If you are at a point where you need to re-engage in therapy and group work, we can help. If you just want someone to check in with you, that’s also fine.

Continuing your journey with us doesn’t just help you. It gives you a chance to inspire newer clients through your own great example. It is a magical thing. Our clients often come to us feeling they have no hope. Then, six months later, they are a source of that very hope for newcomers.
