The Excel Center has been helping our clients on the path to recovery since 2012.
We are staffed with understanding professionals who work collaboratively with our clients to help them find happiness in recovery.
We recognize that substance addictions and behavioral addictions such a gambling or body image disorder can be extremely confusing for our clients. We know that it’s not just a case of stopping the substance or behavior. If it were that simple, most of our clients wouldn’t need our help. However, the fact is that there are an estimated 22 million people currently in recovery in the United States alone. Addiction is a treatable disease – it doesn’t have to be a life sentence.
We believe in compassionately working with our clients to uncover the root cause of these behaviors. We then address these with a personalized recovery plan to empower you to have a manageable and sustained recovery.
We do this through our specialist addiction treatment team which is composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and highly-trained support staff who are dedicated to delivering the highest possible standard of care for our clients. We place you at the forefront of your own journey. We believe in placing you at the center of your treatment and provide a nourishing environment for you to heal and grow.
We know that most people are unfamiliar with how the rehabilitation process works. This is completely normal – our application process is designed to be as simple as possible. Our caring staff will provide all of the guidance you or your loved one needs to make the journey into recovery as streamlined as possible.
We specialize in offering treatment to younger adults and adults in mid-life. At the Excel Center, we believe that recovery is possible for anyone, no matter what age or background. However, different groups of people face different challenges. As such, we make sure that the treatments we offer are varied and meet each of our clients’ exact needs. We consider the different life experiences, pressures, and histories of everyone who seeks help from us.
WHAT ADDICTIONS DO WE TREAT?
Many people who are in active addiction do not understand why they cannot stop. Our clients typically arrive at Excel Center, having tried to stop off their own accord multiple times. This can lead to feelings of guilt and shame. Addiction is not a moral failing – it is a recognized disease. Prolonged exposure to substances alters the physical make-up of the brain’s reward pathways. This means that people will compulsively seek the substance or behavior they are addicted to, despite the negative effects it may be having on their life. Addiction also greatly diminishes the power of choice. Many people find that their behavior in active addiction is very far removed from their usual moral compass.
