Tailored Recovery Programs

The Excel Center in New Jersey prides itself on providing highly personalized care and tailored recovery programs for our clients.

We appreciate that addiction can be both scary and confusing. We also know that it doesn’t have to be that way. We have seen hundreds of our clients who thought themselves hopeless and unable to manage their lives recover and walk through life with their heads held high. Applying for rehabilitation can be daunting. Many of our clients arrive at our doors in a very vulnerable state. This is why our commitment to compassion and care extends throughout our services, from our therapies to the admissions process. We know the period before receiving treatment can be fraught with anxiety and uncertainty. This is why we have designed this part of your journey to be as streamlined as possible – from the very first phone call to when you walk through our doors.

WHAT IS THE FIRST STAGE OF ADMISSION?

We carry out a primary assessment. In short, this is where we find out what your needs are. Each of our clients is different. Without understanding the larger picture of you, we can’t deliver the bespoke treatment packages we pride ourselves on. All of the information you give us during this period is completely confidential – you control who gets to hear it.

In your initial phone call, we will ask for a short description of why you or your loved one needs treatment. With your permission, we pass this information onto one of our expert clinicians who will schedule an appointment with you. This is usually done within 24 hours, although in urgent cases, it can be carried out on the same day. Our clinician will then carry out a pre-treatment assessment.

They will ask questions such as:

  • How long have you used drugs for?
  • What is your primary drug?
  • What do you expect to get out of treatment?
  • Have you ever attended treatment before?
  • Do you have any history of mental health problems?

We will ask detailed questions about your health, medical history, and family life. We use this information to decide what we think the best course of treatment is for you. At the Excel Center, we take a holistic approach to treatment. This means that we look at every area of your life, from your personal history to your current mental health state. We know that addiction is a complex condition, and everyone’s reasons are different. Your wellness is our goal, and carrying out a comprehensive assessment positions us to meet your needs best.

Mental Health

Recovery isn’t just a mental process – we understand the complex interplay between physical and mental health. We use this part of the admission process to ascertain whether you have any mental health conditions that may impede recovery if left untreated. It is not uncommon for those suffering from addiction to have mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. Sometimes the drug use has exacerbated an existing problem, sometimes it has caused it, and sometimes people are self-medicating the symptoms. Whatever your mental health needs are, we will integrate this into your treatment program to give you the best possible chance at a successful and sustained recovery. This could include additional therapy or medication.

QUESTIONS ABOUT ADMISSIONS

HOW QUICKLY WILL I BE ADMITTED?

From the moment our clients finish their assessment and are cleared for insurance, we aim to have them engaged in a program within three days.

WHAT TO BRING?

As most of our programs are outpatient, all you need to wear are some comfortable clothes, an open mind, and a readiness to listen. Although we don’t encourage it, we do allow our clients to smoke and vape, so bring these if you feel that you need them.

For our clients in Partial Care programs, we would encourage you to bring:

  • A toothbrush
  • A towel
  • Toiletries
  • Multiple changes of clothes
  • Phone chargers
  • Your own money (this will be monitored by the support staff)

WILL ANYTHING STOP ME BEING ADMITTED?

The Excel Center is focused on our clients achieving abstinence in a peaceful environment. As such, you will not be admitted to our program or may be asked to leave, if you:

  • Are aggressive to other clients
  • Use drugs or alcohol throughout your time with us
  • If you repeatedly disrupt group therapy sessions
  • If you enter into a romantic relationship with someone else in a treatment program

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Before admission, we need to make sure that certain financial needs can be met. The Excel Center is one of the more affordable rehabs in New Jersey. Many of our clients pay for treatment using insurance.

If you are planning to file with your insurance, please give us your insurance details before the appointment. This allows us to verify coverage, work out the personal costs, and cover the insurance.

If you are self-funding your entire treatment with us, please see the price list below for more details. As of January 1, 2017, self-pay rates include:

  • Initial assessment $150
  • Psychiatric evaluation $250
  • Individual treatment and counseling $65/hour
  • Adult intensive outpatient program $100/contact-day

Sliding scale fees are variable costs that are subject to change based on each client’s financial eligibility. By investigating client and family income, employment history, legal history and criminal records, liquefiable assets, country of origin, and several other factors, we can determine a client’s sliding fee scale.
