Mental Health Services

Mental health is vital for a person to lead a successful and rewarding life. Accessing appropriate treatment and services is an essential part of recovering from mental illness. Moreover, good mental health decreases the chances of people engaging in damaging activities to suppress their emotional distress.

In order to be successful, behavioral healthcare treatments must equip people with the necessary resources to manage stress calmly and efficiently, process negative emotions and events in a healthy way, and build strong interpersonal relationships.

Excel Treatment Center provides a secure, encouraging atmosphere for individuals to self-discover & heal. Our clients benefit from us by gaining the knowledge & understanding of how to take care of their mental health and live meaningful, lasting lives.

It is essential to comprehend mental health disorders in order to provide adequate support and treatment

Mental health issues are a common occurrence, affecting people's moods, behaviors, and cognitive abilities. The causes of mental illness are often multifaceted and can include factors like:

  • Genetic makeup
  • changing hormones
  • continual pain
  • physical health problems
  • lack of nourishment
  • drug and alcohol use and previous trauma are all wide-reaching causes of an individual's genetic predisposition.

Mental health disorders are distinct from feeling down or having occasional bouts of anxiety. Common mental health issues include General Anxiety Disorder & Major Depressive Disorder, which have more serious implications than normal sadness or anxiety. Mental health disorders manifest in the form of persistent and intense feelings and behaviors that can be damaging if not managed properly.

Mental health issues without proper treatment can be long-lasting and severely debilitating. Commonly occurring along with alcohol or substance use disorders are various other conditions like:

  • Major Depressive
  • Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Panic Disorder

Substance Use Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorders are all examples of mental health issues along with General Anxiety Disorder. This desperation set the stage for drug or alcohol addiction, but it also increases the likelihood of both suicidal thoughts and suicidal ideation.

Mental disorders can be debilitating and have a huge impact on peoples' lives, including making them feel negatively about themselves. They can make it difficult to lead an enjoyable and fulfilling life.

Once someone is aware of their mental health issues, they are more capable of understanding why it's difficult to maintain healthy relationships, fulfill important duties, and focus on essential tasks. At Excel Treatment Center, when mental disorders are treated correctly, patients can lead a highly productive life in every aspect.

Addressing Primary Mental Health Disorders is essential for effective treatment

Not receiving required treatment for mental health disorders can be very dangerous, leading to potential relapses and spiraling. To ensure safety & sustainability, self-management strategies should be implemented that help people avoid such situations. Primary mental health treatment not only helps minimize the risk of relapse, but also promotes psychological balance, emotional stability and improved overall mental wellbeing.

Our New Jersey clinicians use comprehensive medical & psychological assessments to accurately determine an individual’s needs. Our New Jersey Mental Health Facility specializes in treating a variety of mental health conditions

Clinical depression, commonly known as depression, is a serious condition characterized by extreme and prolonged sadness. People suffering from it can lose interest in self-care, meaningful relationships, and ordinary activities. People who suffer from depression can find it difficult to complete their duties, concentrate on both intricate and straightforward tasks, remain motivated, and take care of themselves or those around them.

Clinical depression may be hereditary, a consequence of past trauma, or brought on by financial struggles or other significant circumstances. At Excel Treatment Center, we take a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of clinical depression, by assessing all relevant medical and psychological factors.

Anxiety

Anxiety disorders are categorized into five distinct categories: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Social Anxiety or Social Phobia.

We use evidence-based approaches to effectively treat anxiety disorders. Our treatment plan includes medical therapies (when needed), support groups, self-care strategies, stress management techniques, and lifestyle changes. Our treatment center is capable of treating co-occurring addictions and mental health issues, known as dual diagnosis.

Bipolar Disorders

Bipolar disorders involve fluctuations between intense feelings of depression & euphoria. Even though self-treating bipolar disorder can be dangerous, many sufferers feel as if they can manage their condition on their own.

People with bipolar disorder usually experience sudden shifts in their energy and motivation levels, feeling like they can take on anything. Nonetheless, it is hard for them to recognize and respond to their signs of a manic episode.

Our bipolar disorder treatments emphasize the importance of taking long-term measures in order to effectively manage the condition. Patients must be willing and able to commit to ongoing preventive mental health care if they want to experience optimal long-term recovery.

Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia can be a result of addiction, as well as the consequence of using drugs like meth & cocaine in high amounts. Additionally, it is common among alcoholics and other substance abusers. Schizophrenia is usually characterized by hallucinations, disorganized speech, feeling detached from reality, and disorganized behavior.

Schizophrenia makes it difficult for people to think, feel and act as expected.

Many individuals with schizophrenia turn to alcohol and/or drugs in an attempt to feel “connected” or “normal”. Unfortunately, the long-term use of these substances can actually worsen their symptoms over time and create a greater risk of harm.

At Excel Treatment Center, we formulate treatment plans for schizophrenia that are tailored to the individual's needs. Medication management and proactive preventative measures are a core part of our approach as it is essential for minimizing relapse risk over the long-term.

PTSD

PTSD is a major issue among survivors of sexual abuse, domestic violence, physical assault and war veterans. Additionally, it can be triggered by severe accidents or any other extremely traumatic experience. People living with PTSD often need to be extra careful to avoid environments and activities that can bring back memories of the traumatic event. Our PTSD treatment program includes the use of medications (if necessary), behavioral therapies, group sessions, and stress-management strategies to help individuals cope with their condition.

Personality Disorders

Personality disorders are persistent mental health issues that cause a person to act differently from what is socially accepted. Such disorders can interfere with their ability to perform or function normally, and lead to an extremely low sense of self-worth.Personality disorders can be treated through several methods, such as talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and medications. We use a combination of these interventions to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

ADD & ADHD

ADD and ADHD are common childhood mental health disorders, but can endure through all stages of life if not treated adequately. Both can cause long-term difficulties, making it important to recognize early symptoms and provide appropriate help from a young age. People with ADHD typically have difficulty focusing, demonstrate impulsive behavior, struggle to build & maintain meaningful relationships, and have low self-esteem. They often make decisions without considering their potential consequences.

At Excel Treatment Center, people with ADD/ADHD can learn to enhance their self-worth, focus their attention/energy more effectively, improve communication skills, and use natural methods for regulating their moods. Treatment here helps in all these areas and is completely sustainable.

Co-Occurring Addiction can be effectively treated with specialized therapies and medications.

We specialize in confounded mental & substance use issues. Our outpatient services have been designed to specifically provide diagnosis and treatment for dual-diagnosis cases. Alcohol addiction and Substance Use Disorder are the most common dual-diagnosis cases we encounter.

Inpatient mental health facilities require patients to stay overnight, while outpatient mental health facilities provide short-term treatment with patients visiting the center during specific hours of the day.

Inpatient services involve a residential stay for the client, whereas outpatient programs offer the option to go home in between therapies. Outpatient treatment is usually preferable for those whose conditions are more manageable or who cannot commit to a residential program.

Mental health facilities can be specialized in either inpatient or outpatient treatment, both of which are equally beneficial for managing mental health conditions. Excel Treatment Center has both intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient (OP) treatments available, so you can continue to work, study or look after your family while getting the help you need.

Ensuring your safety and wellbeing is our highest priority. In the event that you require inpatient treatment, we will promptly refer you to a suitable New Jersey mental health facility which can offer tailored support for your individual requirements.

How Can I Support a Loved One Struggling With Addition?

Addiction not only affects those struggling with the addiction but also affects the friends and family around them. It can be just as challenging to support them as it is to watch them in active addiction. Learning to create a loving, supportive space without enabling can be difficult, but it is crucial to develop this space to help your loved ones through their recovery.

The Importance of Family Participation During Treatment

Addiction is a disease that affects the whole family. Family members often feel the impact of addiction in a very real way, which can lead to feelings of anger, resentment, and frustration. While these emotions are natural, they can also be detrimental to one’s treatment if left unchecked.
